"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall" - F. Scott Fitzgerald
I read this quote in a local newspaper a couple weeks ago, and my initial response was "no it doesn't" spring is the beginning and fall is the end, when the leaves fall and die, the weather turns chilly, the skies always seem gray, the days are shorter, there is more darkness. But the quote haunted my mind. I pondered the thought. I tried to adjust my perspective. I tried to just forget about it... but obviously(!) that didn't work.
When it hit me, it kinda slapped me right across the face. There are so many others wiser than me. How could I not see it?
Sometimes we trip and "fall", sometimes we skin our knees, sometimes we try to move forward in life, but only seem to fall two steps back. We've all been there. We've all felt, at one moment or another, that we've hit rock bottom, nothing could get worse, it's dark, it's lonely, it's scary. But, hey if you are at rock bottom the truth is there's no place to go but up... That's when it begins - new life, new ideas, fresh perspectives, second chances, determination, goal setting, life on the bright side, glass half full, and gratitude.
Out of the darkness came a great light! There has to be darkness before light. There has to be a cold crisp fall before we ascend that hill to redemption, goodness, positivity and light. Fall is indeed when Life starts over.
So wise… this is one of the many reasons I like to call you ” friend”…
